Universal Pictures Develops Three New Lego Movies

The Lego Group is developing three untitled live-action films with directors Jake Kasdan, Patty Jenkins, and Joe Cornish under a deal with Universal Pictures. Kasdan is set to direct a script by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul, while Jenkins is working on a screenplay co-written with Geoff Johns. Cornish will rewrite a draft by Heather Anne Campbell based on a treatment by Simon Rich. All plot details remain undisclosed, but the projects are being produced by Jill Wilfert and Ryan Christians from The Lego Group, with oversight from Universal's Matt Reilly and Jacqueline Garell. This marks a shift for the Lego movie franchise, which was previously distributed by Warner Bros.
