Ukraine Launches Coordinated Drone Attacks on Russian Defense, Industrial Facilities
Ukrainian armed forces have conducted a series of drone attacks targeting Russian military-industrial and infrastructure facilities deep inside Russia, including the Arzamas instrument-making factory in Nizhny Novgorod and oil refineries in Saratov and the Republic of Komi. The Arzamas plant, which produces missile components such as gyroscopic devices and control systems for Kh-32 and Kh-101 missiles, suffered multiple precision drone strikes causing fires and casualties, though operations are expected to be temporarily disrupted rather than fully halted. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Special Operations Center A claimed responsibility for the precision drone strikes, emphasizing that such military-industrial targets are legitimate due to their role in Russia's war efforts. Additionally, a drone attack on the Saratov oil refinery caused explosions, a fire, and at least one death, highlighting Ukraine's focus on crippling Russia's fuel and military supply chains. Despite the presence of Russian military-industrial complexes, Russian air defenses appeared inactive during these attacks. Ukrainian efforts to demilitarize Russian war production facilities continue, reflecting ongoing strategic targeting deep within Russian territory.
