Notably, areas in Alappuzha and Kottayam faced the brunt of the storm, with numerous trees falling onto roads and railway tracks, leading to train delays, including the Paluruvi Express and Ernad Express. In Alappuzha, one individual sustained serious injuries from a fallen tree, while property damage was reported in various localities. The IMD has issued a Red Alert for Lakshadweep and warned of continued thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall in the coming days.
