Ajax Signs Wout Weghorst from Burnley

Ajax have signed Burnley striker Wout Weghorst on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee, reportedly around €5 million. The 32-year-old Netherlands international, who struggled to make a significant impact at Burnley and during loan spells at Besiktas, Manchester United, and Hoffenheim, returns to his homeland after last playing in the Eredivisie for AZ in 2018. Weghorst expressed pride in joining Ajax, describing it as the biggest club in the Netherlands. His move may displace Ajax's current striker Chuba Akpom, who could be sold before the transfer window closes. Weghorst is expected to undergo a medical and finalize his transfer shortly.
