Sikh Community Offers £10k Reward After Racially-Motivated Rape in Oldbury
The Sikh community has offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two men accused of the racially motivated rape of a woman in her 20s in Oldbury, near Birmingham. The attack, which occurred on September 9th around 8:30 a.m., involved the perpetrators making racist remarks telling the victim she did not belong in the country. West Midlands Police, led by Chief Superintendent Kim Madill, continue to investigate, having reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and conducted forensic inquiries. A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of rape but has been released on bail pending further inquiries. Sikh organizations have expressed frustration over the pace of the investigation and have launched a community poster campaign urging anyone with dash cam, CCTV, or doorbell camera footage to come forward. Police and community leaders emphasize the importance of public cooperation to bring the suspects to justice and support the victim.
