MSF Reports Gaza Daily Injuries Triple Near Aid Centres Amid Health System Collapse

Medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has reported that the number of Palestinians wounded daily in the Gaza Strip has tripled since the establishment of aid distribution centers run by the Israel- and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. These centers, intended for food distribution, have instead become 'zones of killing,' with many injured dying before reaching hospitals. The Gaza healthcare system, already fragile before the conflict, is now a 'barely functioning skeleton,' struggling to provide urgent surgeries and intensive care amid widespread severe injuries like amputations and shattered bones. Since the launch of this aid initiative in late May, nearly 1,924 Palestinians have been killed and over 14,000 injured at these sites, many due to shootings by Israeli forces or associated contractors. Additionally, a report highlights that over 30 Palestinians sustain permanent or temporary disabilities daily due to ongoing Israeli attacks, which have increased the disabled population in Gaza by 35 percent since October 2023. These developments underscore the severe humanitarian and medical crisis in Gaza amid continuing violence and restricted aid access.
