Ryan Fox Wins Myrtle Beach Classic in Playoff
Ryan Fox of New Zealand won his first PGA Tour title at the Myrtle Beach Classic by chipping in from about 50 feet for birdie on the first playoff hole, defeating Mackenzie Hughes and Harry Higgs. Fox shot a final-round 66 to reach a three-way tie at 15-under-par, with the playoff forced after Hughes bogeyed the 18th. The victory not only earned Fox his maiden PGA Tour title but also secured him the last spot in the upcoming PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. Fox celebrated with his family and discussed the challenges of adjusting to life on the PGA Tour, expressing optimism for his season ahead. The win makes Fox the first New Zealander to claim a PGA Tour event since 2015 and grants him entry into The Memorial Tournament, The Sentry, and The Players Championship. Both Higgs and Hughes praised the playoff and acknowledged the special nature of Fox's victory.
