WalletHub Ranks Most Charitable States

A recent WalletHub report has ranked Nebraska as the tenth most charitable state in the U.S., highlighting the state's commitment to volunteering and charitable giving. Wyoming topped the ranking as the most charitable state, followed closely by Utah and Minnesota, which ranked third. The report analyzed 17 indicators of charitable behavior, including volunteer rates and food bank availability, revealing that Americans donated around $560 billion to charity in 2023, with individual donors contributing 67% of that total. Maryland and Illinois also made the top ten list, showcasing a strong culture of giving across various states. The findings emphasize the significant role of volunteer work, with 61 million Americans contributing a total of 4.1 billion hours annually. This charitable spirit is particularly notable in November, a month dedicated to giving, with Minnesota hosting its annual 'Give to the Max Day'.
