Paramount's 'Children of Blood and Bone' Star-Studded Cast

Paramount Pictures has announced the star-studded cast for the film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi's bestselling novel 'Children of Blood and Bone,' directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. The film, slated for release on January 15, 2027, will feature Thuso Mbedu as the protagonist Zélie, alongside Amandla Stenberg, Damson Idris, Tosin Cole, Viola Davis, Cynthia Erivo, Idris Elba, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Regina King and other actors are in negotiation for supporting roles. The story is set in a fantasy African kingdom and follows Zélie's quest to restore magic to her people, forming alliances with the king's children against his oppressive rule. The production will begin in South Africa, with an open casting call planned in Nigeria. The film aims to portray themes of discrimination and empowerment, drawing on Adeyemi's experiences and the backlash against diversity in blockbuster films as inspiration.
