Chargers Draft Gadsden, Add Two Syracuse Free Agents

The Los Angeles Chargers selected Syracuse tight end Oronde Gadsden II with the 165th pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft and also signed Syracuse linebacker Marlowe Wax Jr. and offensive tackle Savion Washington as undrafted free agents. Gadsden, known for his versatility and strong receiving ability, tallied two 900-yard seasons at Syracuse and will compete for playing time against Will Dissly and Tyler Conklin in Greg Roman’s offense. Savion Washington started all 13 games at right tackle for Syracuse after transferring from Colorado, allowing just three sacks on 674 dropbacks. Marlowe Wax Jr. amassed 338 tackles and 21 sacks during his college career and impressed scouts with a 4.5-second 40-yard dash at Pro Day after recovering from injury. These three acquisitions reunite former Syracuse teammates and add promising depth to the Chargers’ roster. The moves address multiple roster needs on both offense and defense.
