Father Charged After Deadly Madison School Shooting

Jeffrey Rupnow, father of 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, has been arrested and charged with providing a dangerous weapon to a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a child after the December 2024 shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin. Prosecutors allege he gave Natalie a .22-caliber Sig Sauer as a Christmas gift and purchased a 9mm Glock for her, granting her access to both weapons. Natalie meticulously planned the attack, which resulted in the deaths of teacher Erin West and student Rubi Vergara, injuries to six others, and ended with her suicide. Investigators found she had built a cardboard model of the school and struggled emotionally following her parents' divorce.
