Islamic militants launched a deadly attack on a military training camp in Bamako, Mali, causing significant human and material damage. The assailants targeted the Faladie gendarme school, leading to a gunbattle and the temporary closure of the nearby airport. At least 15 suspects were arrested, and more than 20 soldiers were treated for injuries at a local hospital. The al-Qaida-linked group JNIM claimed responsibility for the attack, which marks the first major assault on Bamako since 2015. The U.S. Embassy advised its staff to remain indoors.
