Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia Trailer Debuts Featuring Emma Stone Abduction

Yorgos Lanthimos returns with Bugonia, a sci-fi black comedy and remake of the 2003 South Korean cult film Save the Green Planet!, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons. The film follows two conspiracy-obsessed men who kidnap Stone's character, a high-powered CEO they believe is an alien intent on destroying Earth, leading to an unpredictable and emotionally charged confrontation. Stone and Lanthimos both shaved their heads for the roles, highlighting their solidarity and commitment to the film. Written by Will Tracy and produced by Ari Aster among others, Bugonia blends surreal comedy, environmental themes, and tension. The movie will have a limited theatrical engagement starting October 24, expanding widely on October 31. The new trailer features Stone undergoing a dramatic transformation set to Chappell Roan's “Good Luck, Babe!” and hints at the film's unique blend of dark humor and sci-fi intrigue.
