Target Opens 500 Stores Midnight for Taylor Swift Album Release

Target will open 500 stores nationwide at midnight on October 3 to sell Taylor Swift's highly anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, including three Target-exclusive CD editions with unique artwork and bonus content. This marks a revival of the midnight album release tradition, with participating stores remaining open beyond normal hours to offer the album at midnight local time. Fans can also preorder the album online, and Target has provided a store locator to find participating locations. In the Mahoning Valley, the Boardman and Niles Target stores will participate in the midnight release, although the Boardman store's policy requiring customers under 18 to be accompanied by an adult after 8 p.m. may affect attendance. The exclusive CDs will be limited to four per customer while supplies last. This campaign follows previous successful exclusive releases by Swift and reflects her strong physical music sales despite the prevalence of streaming.
