San Jose Police Arrest 14-Year-Old in Gang-Related Apartment Shooting

San Jose police have arrested a 14-year-old juvenile gang member in connection with a gang-related shooting that took place on May 14 in an apartment parking lot near Tosca Court and Tosca Way. The teen allegedly fired multiple shots at a man inside a vehicle, striking the car but narrowly missing the victim, who was unharmed. After fleeing the scene, the suspect was identified by the San Jose Police Department's Gang Investigations Unit and was apprehended on June 15 following a brief foot chase during which he discarded a firearm stolen from Reno, Nevada. A search of the suspect's home revealed various gang-related items. The juvenile has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and multiple firearm-related offenses, and was booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
