NFL teams are making final roster cuts ahead of the regular season. The Detroit Lions have released wide receiver Daurice Fountain, leaving them with only one receiver over six feet tall. The New York Giants released veteran wide receiver Allen Robinson, a former Pro Bowler who has struggled in recent seasons, and also cut tight end Lawrence Cager, who has been with various teams since going undrafted in 2020. The Arizona Cardinals are expected to cut offensive lineman Elijah Wilkinson, who has not performed well in preseason. Lastly, the New York Jets might cut fifth-round 2023 pick Israel Abanikanda due to a crowded running back room.
