Sitanshu Kotak Appointed India's Batting Coach

Sitanshu Kotak has been appointed as India's batting coach ahead of the limited-overs series against England and the Champions Trophy, following criticisms of assistant coach Abhishek Nayar's performance during the recent tour of Australia. Kotak, a seasoned figure at the National Cricket Academy, will join head coach Gautam Gambhir's support staff as the Indian team seeks to address technical shortcomings that contributed to their losses, including Virat Kohli's struggles with outside off-stump deliveries. The BCCI viewed the need for a specialized batting coach as crucial, especially after a poor showing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Although Kotak’s role may be temporary, it is intended to enhance batting strategies and player performance before the upcoming matches. He has previously served as head coach for the India A team and has extensive experience in domestic cricket. The Indian team's camp in Kolkata is set to begin on January 18, ahead of the series starting January 22.
