His emotional victory comes after a disappointing exit from the Tour de France due to crashes earlier in the season. The final stage, a 24.6 km individual time trial in Madrid, was won by Stefan Kung, with Roglic finishing second. This win ties him with Spaniard Roberto Heras for the most Vuelta victories, further solidifying Slovenia's dominance in cycling this year. Fellow Irish cyclists Eddie Dunbar and Darren Rafferty finished 11th and 75th overall, respectively.
