Explosions Rock Jammu Amid India-Pakistan Tensions

On May 8, Jammu city in Indian-administered Kashmir experienced loud explosions and air raid sirens due to multiple rockets and projectiles fired from Pakistan, which were intercepted by India's air defence systems, including the S-400. The attacks targeted several locations such as Jammu civil airport, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia, leading to complete blackouts, mobile service disruptions, and heightened security alerts. These attacks followed India's Operation Sindoor, during which India struck terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, escalating tensions between the two countries. Pakistan's defense minister indicated an increasing likelihood of retaliatory strikes against India, denying damage from Indian drone incursions and highlighting ongoing international efforts led by the US and Gulf nations to de-escalate the conflict. Both India and Pakistan have accused each other of drone and missile attacks, with claims of thwarted strikes and casualties on both sides, reflecting the deepening conflict over the disputed Kashmir region.
