Concurrently, the Istanbul Development Dialogue highlighted the crucial link between gender equality and climate action ahead of COP29, with an emphasis on women's empowerment as foundational to sustainable development. The forthcoming Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on the Beijing+30 Review will assess ongoing challenges and progress in gender equality across the region, aiming to foster actionable commitments. As global leaders prepare for these discussions, concerns grow regarding the potential rollback of reproductive rights under renewed political pressures, especially with Donald Trump's anticipated return to power. These initiatives collectively underscore the ongoing struggle for gender equity amidst complex socio-political landscapes.
