The construction is part of preparations for the 2025 Champions Trophy, making it challenging to host the Tests as scheduled. Abu Dhabi is the only viable option in the UAE because of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup taking place in Dubai and Sharjah. Pakistan recently faced a significant defeat against Bangladesh, dropping to their lowest ICC Test ranking since 1965, and they view the England series as crucial. The PCB is expected to finalize the venue after discussions with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Hosting matches without spectators is not considered a favorable option.
