Daycare Worker Charged With Child Assault

A 26-year-old daycare employee, Matthew Maxwell, has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly choking and injuring a child under five at Way to Grow Daycare in Niagara Falls. The incident occurred on September 13, prompting an investigation by the Niagara Regional Police's child abuse unit. Following the investigation, Maxwell was arrested and is being held pending a bail hearing. Authorities believe there may be additional victims due to Maxwell's previous employment at another childcare facility, Niagara Nursery School & Child Care Centre. Police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
