Darrell Wayne Smith, a former correctional officer at the now-closed Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California, faces a total of 15 counts of sexual abuse following a superseding indictment that adds two new victims to the allegations. Originally indicted on 12 counts involving three inmates, the new charges, which include a civil rights violation, stem from incidents reported to have occurred as early as August 2016 and continuing until May 2021. Smith is accused of sexually abusing multiple female inmates under his supervision, with allegations of locking them in cells and coercing them into sexual acts.
