Cam Ward Sets Miami Passing Record

Cam Ward, Miami Hurricanes' quarterback and Heisman Trophy contender, set a new school record for passing yards in a single season, surpassing Bernie Kosar's 1984 record of 3,642 yards. Ward achieved this milestone with a 13-yard pass to Damien Martinez, reaching 3,643 yards by halftime against Wake Forest. He also holds the season record for touchdown passes and is on track to break Miami's completion percentage record with a current rate of 67%. Ward's performance has led the Hurricanes to a 9-1 record, marking their best start since 2017, and he is among the top contenders for the Heisman Trophy. This season, Ward has thrown 254 completions, just eight shy of breaking another Kosar record, and has 10,462 career passing yards at the FBS level. Ward's record-breaking season is especially notable as he joined Miami for only one year, transferring from Incarnate Word and Washington State.
