Teddy Mejia, a Filipino man accused of sexually exploiting over 111 children, was arrested in Dubai and deported back to the Philippines. He faces numerous charges including trafficking, cybercrime, and rape, with reports indicating he blackmailed minors into providing sexual content after initially enticing them with small payments. The Philippine government, emphasizing international cooperation, coordinated with UAE authorities to apprehend Mejia following an Interpol Red Notice. Some victims were as young as nine, and the exploitation led to severe psychological impacts, including suicides among the victims. The investigation has revealed that Mejia used social media to profile vulnerable children and employed tactics such as deepfaking to extort further explicit images.
