The film, a Netflix crime thriller, is based on the true story of Cheryl Bradshaw, who unknowingly went on a date with serial killer Rodney Alcala while appearing on 'The Dating Game.' Kendrick not only directed but also stars as Cheryl, with Daniel Zovatto playing Alcala. The film, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, is set to be released on Netflix on October 18. Kendrick's premiere look was complemented by a black ensemble and jewelry, while the event featured several cast members including Tony Hale and Nicolette Robinson.
