Former London's Burning Actor John Alford Faces Sexual Abuse Charges Involving Minors

John Alford, known for his roles in 'London’s Burning' and 'Grange Hill', is on trial for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with two underage girls, one in a garden and toilet, and sexually assaulting another. The 53-year-old denies six charges, including penetrative and non-penetrative sexual activity with girls under 16, as well as assault by penetration and sexual assault. Prosecutors stated Alford was 'in no doubt' both girls were underage and emphasized that the alleged incidents took place at a party in Hertfordshire in April 2022. Alford claims no sexual activity occurred, suggesting his drinks may have been spiked and that the girls intended to photograph him for media purposes. The trial was postponed previously due to Alford collapsing, and it follows an investigation by Hertfordshire’s specialist Sexual Offences Investigation Team. Alford, who briefly left acting for other jobs, faces significant public and media scrutiny as the case progresses.
