Elton John Discusses Eye Infection at Golden Globes

At the 2025 Golden Globes, Sir Elton John humorously addressed his eyesight challenges while presenting the Best Original Score award with Brandi Carlile. The 77-year-old musician, who revealed in September that a severe eye infection had left him with limited vision, reassured the audience that his condition is not as dire as reported. He joked, 'There’s been a lot of stories going around about my regressive eyesight,' adding, 'I just want to reassure everybody that it’s not as bad as it seems.' Despite his health issues, he expressed gratitude for the support he has received and remained optimistic about his recovery. Earlier in December, John admitted to struggling to watch his own musical, The Devil Wears Prada, due to his sight loss, emphasizing his enjoyment of the auditory experience. While his future eyesight remains uncertain, his performances continue unabated.
