Paulding County Man Charged in Sister's Death

A 20-year-old man, Joseph Edwin Hinson, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children after his 4-year-old sister accidentally shot herself with his unattended loaded gun in Paulding County, Georgia. The incident occurred early Friday morning when emergency responders responded to a call about a child who had fallen, only to discover that the girl had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Hinson is currently being held in the Paulding County Jail without bond. The investigation revealed that the child found the firearm left unsecured by her brother.
