Land Rover Launches Global Defender Trophy Competition With African Finale

Land Rover has revived its famed off-roading legacy with the launch of the Defender Trophy and the 2026 Defender Trophy Edition, paying homage to the iconic Camel Trophy competitions of the 1980s and 1990s. The new global adventure challenge will feature three demanding rounds of driving, ingenuity, and physical challenges, culminating in a final event in Africa, with competitors working in pairs and aiming to leave a positive conservation legacy through partnership with wildlife nonprofit Tusk. The Defender Trophy Edition vehicle, available in Deep Sandglow Yellow or Keswick Green, includes rugged modifications such as a deployable roof ladder, side-mounted gear carrier, raised air intake, and specialized interior details like Ebony Windsor leather seats and Trophy badging. Eligibility criteria for participants include residency in a participating country, a minimum age of 23, swimming ability, and English fluency. The competition and vehicle aim to blend the spirit of adventure with modern conservation efforts and will be shared online for a global audience. Deliveries of the Trophy Edition begin in October, with pricing announced at roughly £89,810 in the UK, though other markets' pricing is pending.
