Roger Chan-Chel Arrested for Tenderloin Homicide
A retail store employee in downtown San Francisco was stabbed while confronting a shoplifting suspect on Friday morning. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, while the assailant fled the scene. Separately, San Francisco Police arrested 37-year-old Roger Chan-Chel for homicide following a fatal stabbing incident that occurred in the Tenderloin District on September 2. The police found the victim suffering from stab wounds upon arrival, but despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Chan-Chel was apprehended shortly after the incident in the vicinity and has been booked into the San Francisco County Jail. Both cases highlight ongoing concerns about violence in the city, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
