Kenneth Washington, Last Hogan’s Heroes Star, Dies
Kenneth Washington, best known for his role as Sergeant Richard Baker in the final season of 'Hogan’s Heroes,' has died at age 88, making him the last surviving main cast member of the show. Washington joined the sitcom in its sixth season, replacing Ivan Dixon, and also appeared in popular TV shows such as 'Star Trek,' 'I Dream of Jeannie,' and 'Adam-12.' Beyond his acting career, he became a professor, teaching speech and film studies at Loyola Marymount University and Southwest College. He is survived by his wife Alice Marshall, three children, and an extended family. Washington's death comes after the passing of his former co-star Robert Clary in 2022, effectively closing the chapter on the show's original cast. His legacy endures through his television work and educational contributions.
