Serious Assaults Reported in New Haven and Arklow

A 51-year-old man was found unconscious and bleeding from the head after an altercation early Friday at a Mobil gas station on Whalley Avenue in New Haven, Connecticut, and remains in critical but stable condition at Yale New Haven Hospital. Police in New Haven continue to search for the assailant and encourage witnesses to come forward. In a separate incident in Arklow, Ireland, a man in his 40s was hospitalized with serious injuries after an attack, the second such incident in Arklow in just over a week. In the earlier Arklow case, a man in his 20s was arrested after an assault that left a man in his 50s hospitalized. Both the New Haven and Arklow incidents remain under investigation. Authorities in both locations are appealing for information from the public.
