The aftermath of Hurricane Helene has led to extensive school closures across multiple regions due to power outages, water disruptions, and unsafe travel conditions. In Asheville, private schools like Asheville School, Christ School, and Asheville Christian Academy have extended closures due to power and water outages, with significant damage reported at Asheville Christian Academy. Greenville County Schools, Spartanburg County Schools, and Aiken Technical College are also closed through the week, with Greenville evaluating 370 bus routes and conducting infrastructure assessments once power is restored. Savannah-Chatham County Public School System and Asheville City Schools have similarly faced prolonged closures, with assessments continuing on road safety, power, and internet connectivity.
