Drones Replace Fireworks and Aid Law Enforcement

Drone light shows are increasingly replacing traditional fireworks in U.S. Independence Day celebrations, with cities like Milwaukee and Rancho Palos Verdes holding large-scale displays featuring hundreds of choreographed drones. In Milwaukee, Carroll University students gained practical experience in drone technology, while similar educational initiatives are taking place internationally, such as in Lithgow, Australia. Drones are also being used for public safety, exemplified by Riverside, California, where police utilized drones to identify and cite over 60 illegal fireworks incidents, more than doubling last year's citations. Experts note that drones offer environmentally friendly alternatives to fireworks and create new career, educational, and regulatory opportunities. The growing integration of drones reflects shifts in how communities approach celebration, safety, and technological innovation. This trend highlights drones’ expanding roles in entertainment, education, and law enforcement.
