Burlingame Man Arrested for Car Vandalism

Carlos Utan, a 29-year-old man from Burlingame, was arrested by San Mateo police for allegedly vandalizing eight parked cars on South Fremont Street. Witnesses reported seeing Utan using a paint roller and a stick to break mirrors and windshields early in the morning on October 7. The total estimated damage to the vehicles is nearly $9,000. Officers were able to quickly locate and detain Utan based on detailed descriptions provided by the community. He has been booked into the San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of felony vandalism.
