Squirrel Hill Restaurant Faces Consumer Alert Over Rodent, Roach Violations

Jian's Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood, was issued a consumer alert after inspectors identified 15 health violations during a recent inspection. Notably, three of these violations were classified as high risk, including the presence of fresh rodent droppings and dead cockroaches found throughout the establishment. Additionally, food was being held at unsafe temperatures, and a slicer was noted to be soiled with food debris. Other infractions included foul-smelling grease near the grease trap and a blocked hand sink in the kitchen. The Allegheny County Health Department has scheduled a re-inspection for February 17 to assess compliance.
