Hamad International Airport Opens Concourses D, E, Boosting Capacity to 65 Million Annually

Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Qatar has officially launched its new Concourses D and E, significantly increasing its capacity to over 65 million passengers annually. This expansion, completed ahead of schedule, integrates cutting-edge technology and enhanced facilities to streamline operations and improve traveler comfort. The terminal now spans 842,000 square meters, with a 14% increase in size and 17 additional aircraft contact gates, marking a nearly 40% increase in total gates. Qatar Airways Group CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer emphasized the importance of this development for both operational excellence and Qatar's global aviation status. The new concourses are designed to optimize passenger flow and connectivity, reinforcing Doha's position as a key global aviation hub. The project, which began in 2018, represents a crucial step in supporting Qatar's economic growth in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
