Cyndi Lauper, Outkast Among 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2025 inductees, welcoming first-time nominees Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Bad Company, and Outkast, along with previously nominated artists Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, and the White Stripes. The ceremony will be held November 8 at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater, streaming live on Disney+ with later broadcasts on Hulu and ABC. Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon will receive the Musical Influence Award, while Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye are honored with the Musical Excellence Award, and Lenny Waronker receives the Ahmet Ertegun Award for industry professionals. Notably, Phish won the fan vote but failed to secure induction, along with other high-profile nominees like Mariah Carey, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Billy Idol, the Black Crowes, and Maná. This year’s class reflects the Hall’s ongoing evolution in defining rock and roll, embracing a wider diversity of genres and backgrounds. Some inductees, such as Joe Cocker and Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, will be honored posthumously, while Cyndi Lauper is currently on her farewell tour.
