A tragic shooting incident occurred at the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) camp in Balrampur district, resulting in the deaths of two personnel and injuries to two others. Constable Ajay Sidar allegedly opened fire with his service weapon, an Insas rifle, at approximately 11 AM, killing constables Rupesh Patel and Sandip Pandey, the latter of whom died en route to the hospital. Injured personnel Ambuj Shukla and Rahul Baghel are receiving treatment, with Shukla being transferred for further care. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and Sidar has been taken into custody by his colleagues. Investigations are ongoing as the incident has raised concerns within the community and among military officials. The CAF unit is currently engaged in anti-Naxal operations near the Jharkhand border.
