Coast Guard Suspends Search for Missing Individuals

In California, the Coast Guard also ended a search for four missing boaters near Bodega Bay after recovering the body of a teenager and finding an 11-year-old boy alive from a capsized boat; efforts covered 2,100 square miles over 57 hours. Both incidents highlight the challenging decisions faced by authorities in search and rescue operations, with condolences extended to the victims' families. In both cases, the Coast Guard stressed the difficulty of suspending searches when closure cannot be provided to the families involved.
