Kacey Musgraves, Carín León Release Bilingual Duet Bridging Musical Traditions

Kacey Musgraves and Carín León have collaborated on a new bilingual single, "Lost in Translation," which blends country and regional Mexican music, highlighting a love story that transcends language barriers. Musgraves, a Texas native, discovered León through his NPR Tiny Desk Concert and was inspired by how his music intersects with her own genre-fluid style. The two artists met in Nashville with songwriters Amy Allen and Shane McAnally, where they bonded over singing the classic Juan Gabriel and Rocío Dúrcal duet "Fue Un Placer Conocerte," a shared favorite. Produced by Julian Bunetta, the track combines vibrant horns and rhythmic backing with vocals that emphasize universal communication beyond words. Both artists expressed mutual respect for each other's exploration of musical borders, with León appreciating Musgraves' approach to genre blending and Musgraves acknowledging the cultural connections rooted in their backgrounds. Musgraves continues to tour internationally, while León has a busy schedule of arena and stadium shows planned in South America.
