11-Year-Old Girl Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck in Northern Minnesota

An 11-year-old girl named Avery Anderson tragically died after being hit by a pickup truck while riding her bicycle near the intersection of Broadway Street and Crestwood Drive in Wrenshall, Minnesota. The incident occurred on a Friday evening, and an off-duty Cloquet Police Department officer was the first to respond, providing aid and coordinating emergency services at the scene. Avery was initially treated locally before being airlifted to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, where she succumbed to her injuries despite lifesaving efforts. The driver, a 49-year-old man from Summerville, South Carolina, cooperated fully with authorities and showed no signs of impairment.
