On August 28, a second-year B.Tech student from Gurugram University, identified as Atharva, was kidnapped by three men who forcibly withdrew Rs 1.87 lakh from his account and sold his motorcycle for Rs 5.80 lakh. The assailants, Bhanu, Tilak, and Gaurav, held Atharva captive for about seven hours, threatening his life and stealing his belongings, including electronics. Atharva was eventually abandoned on the roadside in Sector 56 after the ordeal. The suspects, who reportedly targeted Atharva to fund their drug addiction, have been arrested, and police are working to recover the stolen cash and items. Atharva initially hesitated to report the crime but was encouraged to do so by his cousin. The police have registered an FIR against the accused under relevant sections of the law.
