Myanmar military air strikes in Namhkam, northern Shan State, resulted in the deaths of 11 civilians and injuries to another 11 on Friday around 1:00 am local time. The attacks, which occurred just five kilometers from the Chinese border, targeted two areas and damaged a local political party's office, according to the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA). The deceased included five men, four women, and two children, with images showing significant destruction and rescue efforts in the aftermath. This incident highlights the ongoing conflict since the 2021 military coup, which has led to extensive territorial losses for the junta and increased resistance from ethnic armed groups. Junta leader Min Aung Hlaing has warned civilians to prepare for military counterattacks in these contested areas. The junta has also labeled the TNLA a 'terrorist' organization, intensifying its crackdown on opposition forces.
