Teen Charged After Collision with Premier Ford
An 18-year-old from Oshawa has been charged with dangerous driving following a collision on Highway 401 that involved Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who was uninjured. The incident occurred on January 8 around 12:30 p.m. when the teen's vehicle struck the OPP Protective Services vehicle transporting Ford after a speaking engagement. The teen and his passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated at a hospital. The driver is set to appear in court on February 20. Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Sullivan County, a 31-year-old woman has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after striking and killing a pedestrian while allegedly impaired. These incidents highlight ongoing concerns regarding road safety and driver conduct in the region.
