Odisha Coastline Search Underway for Four Missing Fishermen

Four fishermen from Kankadapal village in Odisha's Balasore district went missing after venturing into the sea on Saturday morning, prompting extensive search and rescue operations. One fisherman, Jaganath Pal, was rescued near the Digha coast in West Bengal and hospitalized, while efforts continue to locate the remaining three. The Odisha Police, in collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard, marine police, and the state's Fisheries Department 'Sagar Mitra' team, have deployed multiple vessels and used drones for aerial surveillance in the ongoing search. Enhanced patrolling along the coastline and communication with marine police stations in neighboring states have been established to support the rescue mission. The fishermen typically return by afternoon, and their failure to do so caused alarm among their family, who alerted authorities.
