Malachi Nelson Commits to UTEP Football

Former five-star quarterback recruit Malachi Nelson has committed to the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) after entering the transfer portal from Boise State. Nelson, who was the No. 1 recruit in ESPN's Class of 2023, began his college career at USC, where he was a backup to Caleb Williams. He transferred to Boise State but was unable to secure a starting position, playing in limited capacity across three games. Despite offers from larger programs, Nelson chose UTEP due to his confidence in head coach Scotty Walden's leadership. At UTEP, Nelson will compete for the starting quarterback position, potentially revitalizing a team that struggled offensively in recent seasons.
