Migrant arrested again

Yohenry Brito, a 24-year-old Venezuelan migrant, has been arrested again for theft while out on bail for his alleged role in a violent January altercation with NYPD officers in Times Square. Brito is accused of leading an attack on the officers during which he and several others assaulted them, resulting in his being labeled the 'most culpable' of those involved. He was recently charged with stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise from Sephora and has a history of theft, with previous arrests for similar offenses. After the January incident, he was released on bail posted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, despite public outcry. Brito now faces additional charges and is being held with a bond of $50,000. The ongoing situation raises concerns about crime and immigration policies ahead of the 2024 elections.
