Meta has launched Meta Motivo, a new AI model aimed at enhancing the realism of digital avatars in the Metaverse through lifelike movement and decision-making. Utilizing unsupervised reinforcement learning and the FB-CPR algorithm, the model can perform tasks without explicit training, making it a significant advancement in embodied AI. This technology promises to improve user experiences by addressing common issues with robotic movements, potentially leading to more engaging and believable interactions within virtual worlds. Additionally, Meta is investing heavily in AI and augmented reality, forecasting capital expenses of up to $40 billion for 2024, and is making many of its AI models available for free to developers.
